In September 2015, the United Nations 193 member countries adopted 17 global sustainable development goals. These goals, which are to be achieved by 2030, aims to eliminate poverty and create a sustainable world. To achieve these goals requires collaboration between governments, civil society and the business community. Through its sustainability work and the investments it makes, AP2 contributes in several ways to these UN Sustainable Development Goals. This week, leading global institutional investors are gathered at the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) conference in Singapore. We think it is important to have a shared definition of Sustainable Development Investments and encourage other large institutional investors to take similar steps. AP2, together with some of Europe’s largest pension funds signed a statement about the importance for institutional investors to invest in solutions that contribute to the goals.
